Dental Implants – Replace Missing Teeth and Enhance the Function of Your Smile !!

Today, the field of dentistry has made many developments. If you have lost teeth, there are dental procedures which can restore them both functionally and in appearance. Dental implants are one such procedure available today. They are very advantageous and have a long-lasting life.

Benefits of Dental Implants :

• Implants look, feel and function like your own teeth.

• They help in restoring your self-confidence and youthful appearance.

• Implants give you sparkling, most natural-looking new teeth without affecting adjacent healthy teeth.

• Since they integrate into the structure of your jaw bone, they offer a permanent foundation to prosthetic teeth and dentures that will last a lifetime.

• Often made from titanium, dental implants offer biting force that is most like natural teeth.

• Dental implants do not slip or slide in place while eating and speaking as opposed to bridges and removable dentures.

• They offer freedom from the embarrassing clicking and hissing sounds of dentures and the messy pastes and glues as well.

Dental Implant Placement :

After the initial consultation, the next step in the dental implant procedure is the dental implant placement. During the next appointment, your dentist will carefully position a dental implant, or titanium metal rod, at the position where the tooth root is missing. This rod is usually surrounded and covered with gum tissue to allow it time to fuse with the jawbone over several months in a process called osseointegration. The tooth implant is made of materials that work naturally with the body, and the bond between the jawbone and dental implant creates an important, sturdy anchor that replicates the strength of a natural tooth root.

After the dental implant has fused with the jawbone to create a sturdy anchor, an abutment, a small piece of metal that screws onto the dental implant, is attached. A dental crown, or artificial tooth, is fastened securely to this abutment, completing the teeth implants procedure. In some cases, the abutment is attached at the same time that the implant is positioned. When this is the case, patients receive a temporary crown that attaches to the abutment until their permanent crown is crafted.

The cost of dental implants may vary depending upon where you get them done. In India, the cost of dental implants is about 1/4th of its cost in the US and you get similar or better treatment. You may enjoy a vacation and save quite a lot of money as well.

Lingual Braces - Treat Your Teeth Unnoticeably !!!

Lingual Braces are fixed behind the teeth and hence their popular name is hidden braces. Once the brackets are attached to the backs of your teeth, the arch wires that must be periodically adjusted can help each tooth move into its correct position. The lingual arch wires are also tooth specific. An orthodontist or orthodontics dentist trained in lingual invisible orthodontics can then correct each tooth separately. In many cases, the entire process of aligning the teeth and jaw is faster.

Advantages of Lingual Braces :

A solution that has more aesthetic and cosmetic appeal is to go for lingual braces. Instead of having metal brackets bonded on your front set of dentures, these metal braces are customized to bond at the back of the teeth so they remain invisible when smiling. They are a cosmetic alternative to those who want their teeth corrected but without the unaesthetic metal look when they smile.

Just to overemphasize its benefits, the obvious advantage of lingual braces is that no one will know you are wearing them, unless, they start looking inside your mouth.
